High Resolution Shallow Seismic

Piri Reis utilizes Sub-Bottom Sonar echoes to detect and map targets and layering beneath the seabed . To achieve this we use the Bathy 2010™ which is Windows XP compatible Chirp Sub-Bottom Profiler capable of fully automatic as well as manual operation. The BATHY 2010 is designed for ease of operation and provides a hardcopy interface via a parallel port to gray-shade thermal recorders.

 

The harder the target or strata, the harder and more resolute the sonar’s bounce back echo is to the transducer. Sub-Bottom can be used to three-dimensionally delineate sediment volumes. This technology can also be used to survey a seabed for buried structures prior to advancing bottom sampling, coring or drilling equipment into the sub-bottom, thus lowering seabed sampling cost and data evaluation.

 

Processed high resolution seismic data than will be produced on an Isopach and for Geotechnical and pipe route investigations Piri Reis also provide a longitudinal section which called Seismolithological Profile.
